I have said that many times. What I haven't said is that, in my mind, I have a collection of pictures that I call: holding hands. It means that the scene, the place, the time, the light were all so perfect, so beautiful, that it feels wrong to be there alone instead of holding hands with someone. That way we would all have everyone's pictures in our homes for Christmas. The idea took shape thanks to Juju, who had the time and patience to assemble the book. We call it 16 Clicks and it's a heart-breaker. But once a year there's a magical phenomenon that I call The Apple Carpet and that all the birds and rabbits who live there probably call The Supermarket. It's like a sweet, fun and delicious children's storybook.

I bought these in the Montreal's Plateau zone for a tea with my good friends and exquisite caterers Mayra and Beatriz. We ended up eating a bowl of homemade chicken chowder instead of tea, and having the macarons for dessert. Grilled Pistachio (the green one) was my favorite. I'm going there tomorrow to get some more :)

Two hours from Montreal, near the US border there is this peaceful little place that stole my heart from day one. There is a pier with benches to watch the blue-green lake water and a rustic table to have romantic picnics at sunset. On one side a modest marine with just a few boats. On the other, a crystal clear natural pool surrounded by sailboats. There is also a couple of art galleries, a Unknownnoreply@blogger.com43tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7206814774777195783.post-37821573376032629412010-08-11T23:48:00.000-07:002010-10-15T14:59:22.946-07:00here comes the sun

I was looking forward to this session, I got to photograph one of my favorite clients again! I did a photo session with Gabriela and her beautiful sisters and mom one year ago. Now she's almost sixteen years old and she's just blossoming! For some of these photos we went to a nearby marina and the rest were made in the little park in front of my house. I was recently hired to do a session with two BFF teenage girls who are going to be separated because one of them is moving to Europe while the other one is staying in Montreal. They wanted to have this memory of their friendship. When I was taking these pictures I relived the day when my best friend Sara left Caracas to go live in Orlando, Florida. I was 16 years old, and to me losing someone Unknownnoreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7206814774777195783.post-62460597697110576332010-07-29T07:32:00.000-07:002010-10-15T15:05:54.722-07:00lake mom

One of my favorite summer day trips is the Eastern Townships region: lakes, small gem towns, old-fashioned general stores, fresh baked raspberries pies, little marinas, beautiful country scenes and even an almost french lavender field.

When six years ago I talked to my friend Marlene about my plans for moving from Caracas to Montreal, the first thing she said to me was "Oh, I remember the flowers! Montreal is so beautiful, tons of flowers everywhere!". Now I understand. Every house, public square, street or little shop in this city is decorated with dozens of flowers during summertime. Last Sunday we went to Coteau-du-Lac's wharf to have a picnic. Then, at the historic site, Valeria - as always - played a while in the cold water. I think this girl is a river nimph.
