les macarons

I bought these in the Montreal's Plateau zone for a tea with my good friends and exquisite caterers Mayra and Beatriz. We ended up eating a bowl of homemade chicken chowder instead of tea, and having the macarons for dessert. Grilled Pistachio (the green one) was my favorite. I'm going there tomorrow to get some more :)

end of summer blues

Bye pool and ice creams, bye midnight snacks while reading in bed, bye homemade popsicles, bye sleeping in, bye renting movies in the middle of the week, bye road trips and picnics. I'm going to miss you all. But I'm ready for fall

Two hours from Montreal, near the US border there is this peaceful little place that stole my heart from day one. There is a pier with benches to watch the blue-green lake water and a rustic table to have romantic picnics at sunset. On one side a modest marine with just a few boats. On the other, a crystal clear natural pool surrounded by sailboats. There is also a couple of art galleries, a tennis court with wooden fences, a general store where you can buy homemade cold sandwiches and freshly baked pies, a church built in 1866, a playground and a quiet restaurant overlooking the beautiful lake Menphredmagog. The only thing you need in this place is a good book, and luckily I had one with me.

here comes the sun

Today, very close to home. I was kicked out of this place by a million bees :S

How gorgeous is Gabriela?

I was looking forward to this session, I got to photograph one of my favorite clients again! I did a photo session with Gabriela and her beautiful sisters and mom one year ago. Now she's almost sixteen years old and she's just blossoming! For some of these photos we went to a nearby marina and the rest were made in the little park in front of my house. I had such a hard time choosing which images to post, but here are some of my favs:

best friends

I was recently hired to do a session with two BFF teenage girls who are going to be separated because one of them is moving to Europe while the other one is staying in Montreal. They wanted to have this memory of their friendship. When I was taking these pictures I relived the day when my best friend Sara left Caracas to go live in Orlando, Florida. I was 16 years old, and to me losing someone so special was a tragedy. I would've loved to have some pictures like these, but I have something even better: I still have Sara.
