When six years ago I talked to my friend Marlene about my plans for moving from Caracas to Montreal, the first thing she said to me was "Oh, I remember the flowers! Montreal is so beautiful, tons of flowers everywhere!". Now I understand. Every house, public square, street or little shop in this city is decorated with dozens of flowers during summertime. The few things I know about gardening I've learned them here.
